Privacy Policy
English
Disc Rec is a voice recorder that keeps each recording as a CD with a cover drawn from your walk. It runs on your iPhone. We do not collect, store or sell your personal data.
What we collect
Nothing. Disc Rec has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDKs. We never receive your recordings, photos, routes, transcripts or titles.
What stays on your iPhone
- Recordings. Audio from the microphone is saved only in the app's storage on your iPhone.
- Routes. While you record — including with the screen locked — the app uses your location to trace the route for the cover. Location is used only during a recording and is optional; recording works without it.
- Photos. A photo you take or choose for a cover is copied into the app's storage. The app only sees the photos you pick.
- Transcripts. Speech-to-text runs on your iPhone with Apple's on-device speech recognition. Audio is never uploaded for transcription.
- Titles, markers, cover colors and your library list.
Deleting a CD removes its audio, photo and route. Deleting the app removes everything. Like other apps, this data may be included in device backups that you make with iCloud or a computer.
Apple services
- Maps. To draw the street map behind a route and to name a recording after the place it started, the app asks Apple Maps for map imagery and a place name around your route. Apple's privacy policy applies to these requests.
- Purchases. The optional one-time unlock is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details; the app only checks with Apple whether the unlock is active.
- Siri and Shortcuts. If you start a recording from Shortcuts, the Action button or Control Center, iOS handles that request.
Sharing
A recording leaves your iPhone only when you share it yourself through the iOS share sheet.
Children
Disc Rec does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.

Apple
Disc Rec
